Odd-Even vehicle rationing rule is back in the capital Delhi, beginning from November 13. The scheme is a plan to tackle pollution in Delhi.

The rule will come into effect on November 13 till November 17 from 8 AM to 8 PM. Women drivers, vehicles carrying school children, two-wheelers, VVIPs would be exempted from its provisions.

People will have to pay Rs.2,000, if they violate any provisions of the scheme which is enforced by team of the Delhi police and the transport department.

Delhi Transport Minister, Kailash Gahlot said, “There is no need for people to get panic and Delhi government would not allow any cab aggregators such as Ola and Uber to surge their pricing during the odd-even period in Delhi.”

Delhi government had also directed the DTC (Delhi Transport Corporation) to hire 500 buses from private contractors to solve the rush of people during the week of odd-even.

The DMRC (Delhi Metro Rail Corporation) has already increased the speed of trains and they said that we will maintain the same speed during odd-even. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation will run 3,317 train instead of 3,131 train trips to provide the increased capacity.

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation will also run additional 100 mini buses on the 20 routes during the phase of odd and even.
